TO THB EDITOR Sui-—lu roply to your article on the 2fjth ult. ou the subject of "April Fools" (Poisson d'Avril) — proverb : "Faire avoler un Poisson d'Avril!" (Literal translation : "To swallow an April tish"—it is pretended that this proverb, iu which the word " Poisson " (fish) has been wrongly substituted* for the word " passion " (passion) is but an improper, or unbecoming, allusion to the "Passion of Jesus Christ," which took place on the ord day of April, because upon that day the Saviour was treacherously (or tiy treachery) passed cn from one tribunal to another. —I am, etc., F.
