Dividend, 16s. PRESENTATION TO FATHER O'GARA.
A pleasing feature of the annual Catholic picnic which was held in the Oddfellows Hall, on Thursday last (St. Patrick's Day), was the childrens' presentation to the Kev. Father O'Gara, and their very evident sorruw at losing him, Miss Ida Cussen presented the gift, which was a very handsome dressing case, while Miss Kathie McGarrigle read with much feelinK the following address :—Rev. and Dear Father,—Wβ have heard with sincere sorrow of your intended departure from amongst us, and although we are young and form but the youthful portion of your flock, we cannot allow you to leave without expressing our heartfelt grief at your departure, and wishing you a safe and happy journey and loving reception in your dear native land, and we will fervently pray that we may have the pleasure of welcoming you back at no distant date. Your bright face and kind and cheerful voice will bo a cherished memory ever with us, and in your distant home we hope you will sometimes i think of us, the children of your flock. And : now dear Rev. Father, we beg your kind acceptance of the accompanying gift as a token of our love and esteem, and begging a kind remembrance in your holy prayers, and again wishing you a safe and speedy journey, we remain, dear Rev. Father responded at Home length, and with much feeling, he aaid it afforded him the greatest pleasure to receive this token of their affection, which he assured them was mutual, and in his usual happy style said he hoped to be back in time to marry them all.
