MINISTER FOR LANDS.
(BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT) Tk Aroha, Last Night. The Minister for Lands and his private secretary arrived here yesterday, accompanied by Col. Fraser, M.H.R., and the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Auckland. The whole party put up at the Club Hotel and the Minister was immediately interviewed by the members of the Hot Springs Domain Board and shown over the Domain. In the evening several deputations from settlers in the district saw Mr McKenzie with reference to their grievances, and in each case appearod satisfied that relief would be granted where they were justly entitled to the same. This morning the Minister received a deputation from the Town Board and Hot Springs Board, and afterwards proceeded, in company with Air James Mills. J.P., to inspect the special settlement on the West side of the river. The Hon J. McKenzie will address n public meeting this evening, when a large attendance is expected. The Minister, by his courteous treatment of those who waited upon him, has won for himself and his Government golden opinions. Mr McKenzie will come to Hamilton today, remaining till Monday, when he will proceed to the King Country, in company with Mr Cadman.
