COLONIAL LOANS.
THE ISSUE OP TEEASUEY BILLS
(by bleotbio telegraph.—copyright). London , , March 3. T»B Daily Telegraph states that the surreptitious way in which the Aus* tralian colonies are raising money is much disliked in financial circles. The Chronicle asserts that only a small portion of the Queensland Treasury Bills is to be placed on the market at present and that the Victorian Government has decided to postpons the issue of the second million's worth of Treasury Bills for several months.
The Times believes that a million of Victorian Bills could beplajedata small premium but hopes that in the present condition of the market the colony will adhere to its decision not to increase the amount. Panmure Gordon states that the Premier of Victoria cables that million raised yesterday will be sufficient for Victoria for the current year. Intense irritation continues to be expressed at the Victorian Government utilising private agents, and the city financiers declare it has inflicted tt permanent injury to the credit of the colony by issuing bonds at a discount. It is stated that two millions can still be obtained through regular advisers immediately at 4£ and possibly 4$- oa giving a plelge the amount will be sufficient for two years. It is believed Sir G. Berry advised the employment of Gordon.
