The following were out doing slow work during the day :— H>inpfcon and Bitger, who mad 3 their first appearance yesterday morning. Hempton feels confident of the 100 and 250 yds. Hutchison and Buchanan were the first of the Auckland men out. Burton did a good thrde miles, and wound up very strong. He and Lewis are staying out of town. Farquhar went two miles at a splendid pace. Hickett did a slvirt run over hurdles, but ho is suffering from a bad les?, the effects of being spiked at the tests. Upfill has only had a few jumps with long distances." O'Connor is getting better at the stone every day. People here challenge Burton's walking. Meyerick, the high jumper from Pahnerston, is doing well.
