LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
PROBABLE NEW APPOINTMENTS. (by telegraph.—press association'.) Wellington, Tuesday. Rki'KRHIN'G to the question of the Legislative Council appointments, the Post saj's it has good authority for stating that the Governor has promised Ministers to >n*ke fifteen Appointments to the Council. The names will be submitted on his arrival in Wellington. These will almost certainly include Mr Fraser, but not Mr Jollicoe. The Premier, on the other hand, assured an interviewer to-day that it. was as likely as not the names would not bo submitted to Lord Onslow at all but to his successor. The Government had absolutely come, to no determination as to the names, but the number would bo considerable—very likely as many as fifteen. Among these would be ;l proportion of labour representatives strictly drawn from the ranks of the actual working class.
