AUCKLAND NEWS.
(BYT TBLECHAI'H.— OWN OORKRSPONDENT.) Auckland, Last Night. Mk Joseph Newman, sharehroker, 70 yeare age, who was once member of the Provincial Council, and for a short time memher for Franklyn in the House of Representatives, died to-day, from injuries received last September twelvemonths, by a blow on the head from a falling signboard.
At the Chess Congress, to-day, Seidelbera be: t Trimble giviug a total of four and a, half wins to the former.
