The other train, linwevnr, continued to advanco, and the passengers in the front trucks, fearing a collision, jumped off, while ethers in the carriages ended vinired to gat through the windows, The only accident was to nn infant, but it was only slightly injured. The Bluff train pulled up some distance from the down tr-iiu.

The officers of the department are naturally rsticent as to the ca'iee, pending an enquiry ; but it is believed t) be duo to some misunderstanding in respect to the crossing at which the trains had to pass.
