Mr Delisle a memher of a trading firm has arrived in Wellington with n petition from the Chamber of Commerce in Raratouea t' Lord Onslnw in which they say : —" We think that when laws are tr.aio which alfeet us and which compel us to pav duties and taxes that we should be allowed t> bavosoina vm'ce by representation in that Parliament in framing those laws. Your Re ; ident here in reply to a question put to him by a deputation from oit body said tha ( - he framed and proposer] all the laws brought before this Parliament. We would resoectfully urgo that we do not consider that he should alone, propose laws that so immediately affect us without our being iu some way consulted or permitted to exp-oss our views and we further balieve that we should have the right allowed us to have some voice in the disposition of the revenue, the, largest portion of which is raised by duties and levied <>n us.
