MESSRS REYNOLDS AND CO.'S CREAMERIES.

Mkssim RKYNOtns AN'n Co., for some short time past, have not been satisfied with tho quality of some of the milk supplied to the creamery at Hamilton, mid in consequence on Saturday, the 14th inst., several bottles of milk Wflid taken from the suppliers' cans as they came to the factory to deliver their milk. These samples were sealed up in tho presonce of witnesses and forwarded to Auckland to Mr Pond, the colonial analyst, who having thoroughly tested tho quality of the same, reported that two of the three had been diluted with water and contained a very poor percentage of cruatn. The result is that yesterday morning Mr Reynolds gave notice to the manager of the factory that he was not to receive any more milk from the two parties concerned, and Messrs Reynolds and Co. have also determined that they will under no circumstances receive milk from these suppliers again, either at the Hamilton or any other factory under thoir control.

This matter is one of the greatest importance to Waikato, and we fnel sure that sill the settlors who are supplying milk to the factory will support Messrs Reynolds and Co. in their action. The firm has done much for the farmers in Waikato, and it speaks vory poorly fof those who have treated them in the above manner. The ■' Anchor" brand of butter is winning 11 name for itsolf all over the world ; but it will not be able to maintain this good name if dishonest tricks are practised by the suppliers. The decision come to by the firm not to receive any more milk from parties who have been found guilty of tampering with the milk is very severe ; but they must protect themselves, and we hope the example which i« made in the present instance will servo as a warning to all other suppliers, and we. trust it will never happon to us again to have to refer to such disreputable conduct. It is a pity Mr Reynolds has withhold the names, as an example ought to be made of people wlio have acted so dishonestly.
