WAIKATO FARMERS' CLUB (HAMILTON BRANCH).
Tin: usual monthly meeting of the above club was hold in Tub Waikato Timks Uui'dincs last nijiht, when thore were present: Messrs riiinrosd (chairman), H. VSaudes, (leo. John P.irr, A. Swarbrick, .1. W. A, Graham, K. W. Dyer. C. J. W. I3irton, T. G. Sande?, (ieo. Runciman, and Captain Ruuciman. Mr Dick, of the New Zealand Drug Company (manure department), was also present.
Show.— A letter was re-ieived from the Cambridge Branch of the Waikato Farmers' Club, in reply to the letter sent by tho Hamilton Branch reendeavourintr to get the Auckland Provincial Show held in Waikato, say, once in every three years.—The decision arrived at by the Cambridge Branch has already been printed in the report of their meeting last week.—After the matter had been well discussed, it was resolved that tho Hamilton Branch should join the Cambridge Branch in calling a meeting of settlers to be luld at Ohaupo on Tuesday, December Ist prox., to consider the advisablouess of holding an agricultural show in Waikato; that Messrs Primrose, Barton, Edgecumbe, Sandes, and Capt. Runciman should attend to represent this branch of tho Club at the meetine ; and that as many of the members of the Club as possible also attend.
Why Farming Does Nor Pay.—Mr A. Swarbrick read a very interesting paper on " Why Fanning Does not Pny," which was received with applause, and provoked considerable discussion. The paper will be printed in an early issue. A vote of thanks wns passed to Mr Svarb'.ick for his paper and suitably acknowledged. This was all the business.
