Thk election of tho LiuoiiMirifr Coininitteo for tho Borough of Cambridge was held yesterday, and notwithstanding the wretched weather the ratepayers rolled tip in strong force, over 100 votes being recorded out of HO, the available number. Tho result was an overwhelming majority for the publican ticket, the two temperance candidates being at the bottom of tin; p'lll. At the close the Returning OHicer (Mr Thomson) announced the result as follows: —John Ferguson, Si; James Webber, SI ; James Taylor, 77 ; Charles Roberts, l-\; J. M. Hull, 07; G. J. Neal, II; J. H. Priestly, oli. The lirst mentioned live are elected. The local option poll was in nil cases against an increase.
