{BY TELEGK.U'ir—I'KEiM ASSOCIATION'.) Xaltkh, Last Xight. Tub schooner Opotilci, belonging to Auckl.ind, arrived From Gisborno this morning. In trying to make an entrance she got broadside on to the breakers, drifting on the beach northwards of the westward pier. Captain Blackwell and the seamen, Aitken and got ashore by a line, and the vessel is now high and dry on thu beach. A strong south-cast gale with rain is blowing. Russell, Lnst Night. A gah from the eastward last night was one of the heaviest experienced for a long time. Fences and old sheds sulFored in consequence. Cope's fishing boat and Scudder's oyster cutter broke adrift, and aro not likoly to be recovered. The feiry steamer Ida moored under Muturna, being unable to cross the bay, consequently there has been no communication since yesterday morning with Kawakawa, and Mr Seddon is unable t<.) get down to Russell. It is still blowing hard from the north-east, with rain. Auckland, Lnst Night. Thnre was a heavy gale blowing all last night and to-day, but the only damage in the harbour was to a seven-ton yacht, owned in Ponsoiiby, which drifted ashore, and was smashed.
