THE SPEILER NUISANCE.

TO TIIE EDITOR. Siu, —As one who has the interest of sport in the Waikato thoroughly at heart, I would ask through your columns to make a most-emphatic protest against the practice that is obtaining amongst the so-called elubs of the district of allowing the " speller'" free access and opportunity to work his little game by the payment of a small fee. Within the last fortnight I have attended three race meetings in the district, at all of which the class referred to were doing a roariug trade, without let or hindrance, playing the game right down to "under and over," ami the "three card trick," aud taking the unfortunate bucolic down all the time. If this is to be the outcome of sport in the Waikato, no more for yours, Spokt.
