SPRING-CART ACCIDENT AT HUNTLY.
TO THK KDITOB. Silt, —Your paragraph in reference to the above in the issue of the lUth calls for a word of explanation from me. It is misleading so far as stating that the accident befel the baby, which was safe in its mother's arms. My wife may be credited in common with the majority of mothers in having proper care for her children. It was a girl of nearly five years of age, who was seated on a low-legged chair on the bottom of the trap, that fell out as the trap jolted. My wife made an effort to grasp her as she fell over the side, in front •jf the wheel, but failed, so when the horse was stopped, she lay about five yards behind, on tho track. Thanks to the kindness of Mr and Mrs Bailey, who received her into their house, and to the prompt and ■skilful attention of Dr. Broom, she is now out of danger. The condition of the (.treat South Kuad. close to a populous place like Ituutly, dues not reflect credit on our County Council.—Yours truly, J. U. MOFAKLANE. Huntly, March 21st, 1801.
