WHATAWHATA,
The Lash Sale.—At last the sections of land in tho township are advertised for sale. While there is u general desire fot the possession of this or that lot, the high price required for tho bost ones will, I fear, prove a stumbling block to tinny. ,t'S an acre is certainly a long figure to ask for land, which, thou?h of gond quality, is of no use except for farming and gardening purposes. However, in spite of the grumbling, I believe the land will sell, though perhaps not immediately under the hammer. For the sake of the township it is sincerely to be hoped tho lots will find purchasers, if only to abate the briar nuisance, which is becoming a serious matter in Whatawhata. To anyone desiring a small block of land convenient to school, good roads and creamery, I can recommend them these sections, and for fruit-growing tha land is eminently adapted.
