[jIY IEI.IiGRAI'H.— OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Auckland, Last Night. Thk Hinemea has arrived from the Kermadecs, with all the settlers, save one family, of those who went to establish the fruit-growing colony. They tell a dismal story of the privations suffered. Two daughters of Mr Bell, the original settler, also came, and Captain Fairchild believes Sir Ball will likewise soon leave the island. He says a mysterious disease has broken out among his sheep, causing great mortality. Most of the returned settlers belong to Hawkes Bay.
The Barque Natera, with guano from Howeland, is two months overdue. It ia feared she is lost.
At a meeting of the South British Insurance Company the resolution was carried that the capital he reduced to £1,900,000, divided into 100,000 Bhares of £19 each by cancelling the paid up capital, lost or unrepresented by available assets by the extent of £1 per share upon the (H. 328 shares issued,, and reducing the nominal amount of all shares from £30 to £1!) per share.
