GERMAN SQUADRON.

AEKIVAL AT WELLINGTON,

(BT ELECTRIC TELKGIUI'H.— COPYMOHT.) Wellington, Last Night. The German squadron, comprising the Leipsig (flagship), Sophie, and Alexandrine have arrived.

On arrival of tbo squadron, the usual salutes were interchanged between H.M.B. Curacoa and the German flagship, followed by visits of courtesy between Captain Stopford and Admiral Vulois. The latter then waited on His Excellency, and the members of the Government paid an official visit to the squairon. The staj of the squadron in Wellington will probably extend over three weeks. Some new officers are on their way out trom Germany by the Kaiser Wilhelin, now about due at Sydney and they are to join the squadron before it leaves New Zealand waters It is undecided whether the officers will join the squadron here or at Auckland, but if a steamer is leaving Sydney soon after they arrive there they will come to Wellington direct, in which case the men of war will stay in this port for about four weeks, and not go on to Auckland as had been arranged. On leaving New Zealand, the squadron will go for a cruise in the South Seas.
