GALES IN AUSTRALIA.

Sydney, October 2d. A violent thunderston prevailed throughout the colony yesterday, and the telegraphic communication with Queensland, Victoria, and South Australia was temporarily interrupted. In some parts the storm i raged with the severity of a tornado. Melhovkne. October 25.
Terrific Rales have been raging 011 the coast for the past two days, and 011 shore a considerable amount of damage has been done. At Brunswick, cue of the suburbs, the roof was torn off a large grain store, and the walls blown out. 'i'ho schooner Acquilla foundered in Port Melbourne. Great damage is reported from country districts. Adelaide, October 25.
Violent gales blew yesterday and slight damage resulted to shipping. The tide was the highest ever known in South Australia. Out of seventeen fishing vessels, which were lying at anchor at Kingston, ten were either blown ashore during tlic height of the gale or sunk.
