Saturday.—(l'efnrn Messrs Seddon and Graham, J.P.'s.) N. R. Cox v. 1. Gow.e.— Claim £415s 101. No nppeirance of defendant. Judgment for amount claimed and cost.*, (is. Patrick Muni'HY was charged by the police fur three separate offences, viz., stealing frniii the Waikato Hotel on the 23rd inst. 2 bottles of brandy, value 12<, tlie property of I'. Le Quesne ; stealing from the Waikato Brewery on the 2lst iust. 2 gallons of beer, value 4--, the property of Charles Illness, and with damage to the brewery, to tho value of us. Prisoner pleaded guilty to the two first charges, and the third one was withdrawn by tiis police. He was sentenced to one month's imprisonment in Mount Eden Gaol, with hard labour, on each of the two charges, the sentences to run concurrently. ~ Allen v. McKknzie.—Mr W. M. Hay appeared for the complainant, and Mr li. W. Dyer for the defendant. McKenzie was charged with having u-ed proyoltiug words to \V. Allen, on October Bth., in the hearinc of .J. S. A. Kent, as follows: -"\ou can toll the thing that 1 am prepared to tight a thing like him for one pound. This cist 1 . was the outcome of a long-standing dillV.ronco between tho two parties, who are married to sisters, and after hearing a considerable amount of evidence, tho bench dismissed tho case, each party to pay his own costs.
