DROWNING ACCIDENT.
(BY TELEGRAPH.— I'KESa ASSOCIATION,) Invebcakgill, Last Night. A cutteb arrived trom Stewart Island, from the gold-field at Preservation Inlet, and reports that a watch-maker, named Clarke, from Dunediu, was drowned while attempting to land at Coal Island. The boat capsized, but the four other occupants were rescued. There are 70 men on the field. The weather is bad, interfering with prospecting on the mainland.
