TRIAL OF REAPERS AND BINDERS AT MANGERE.
A REAPER and binder contest under the auspices of the Mangere farmers, wai held on Saturday last. Messrs Wren. Claude, Mclntyre, Massey, Wyllie and Wills were appointed judges, and the following notes were made by them -" Brantford, 5 feet G inches cut, 2-horse, tie good, third finished, good sheaf, completely tied, ground well clcaned; Reid and Gray, 5 feet (j inch cut, 3 horses, bad tie, fifth finish, socoud best sheaf, badly cut, but on the worst ground. Wood, C feet 6 inch cut, IMiorse, rather wasteful of string, second finished, good sheaf, clean cut but quantity of sheaves unbound, and it had the advantage of the best ground. Champion, 0 feet cut, 2-horse, good tie, first finished, bad .sheaf, not clean cut. Hornsby, 5 feet 0 inch cut, fourth finished, clean cut, bad sheaf, tie good, but several sheaves untied."
