MEETING OF SUNDAY-SCHOOL TEACHERS AT CAMBRIDGE.
A very interesting and lareely-attended meeting of Sunday-School teachers and others interested in the religious instruction of the young, was held on Monday evening in S. Paul's sehool-rooin, Cambridge. Dr. Moon presided, and apologised for the absence of Archdeacon Willis through indisposition, who was to have taken the chair. After devotional oxercises, Mr R. C. Dyer gave a short address on religious instruction, and proceeded to give a specimen lesson to a class of scholars representing each of the Protestant Sunday-Schools in the town. The subject selected was the leading incidents in the life of Joseph, and after explaining the circumstances referred to in the narrative, bringing out several interesting lessons therefrom, he proceeded to sum up the whole by deducing the moral and religious instruction which the subject set forth. The Chairman having called for remarks and criticisms by the audience on the practical character of the lesson, the Rev. C. 11. Garland, Messrs Brooks, Wells and others, expressed their appreciation of the valuable character of the address they had listened to, and made some practical suggestions for future meetings of a similar kind, which it was hoped would be held at intervals. A hearty vote of thanks to MiDyer and the Chairman brought the proceedings to a close.
