The Earl of Euston has commenced an action for libel against the North London Press for connecting his name with a scandal of a revolting character. Mr Edward Guinness has donated £200,000 to London and £50,000 to Dublin, for the erection of dwellings for the poorest of the poor. Mr Parnell who was not aware until now of his mother's distress, has made suitable provision for her needs. Principal Rainey, o£ Edinburgh, and Dr. McGregor, St. Cuthberts, Edinburgh, the delegates from the Presbyterian churches in Scotland who attended the Presbyterian Jubilee celebrations in Melbourne, have returned to Edinburgh and met with an enthusiastic reception. The reverend gentlemen in replying to addresses presented to them made graceful references to the colonies.
