TAOTAOROA ROAD BOARD.
Tm; monthly meeting of the abore Board was held on Saturday, at 11 a.m., in the office of the Piako Council, Cambridge, Present: Messrs H. J. Kalletidar (chairman), H. R. Bruuskill, S. Seddon and H. ,'J. Turner,
The minutus of the previous meeting were read and duly confirmed. Work Auandon'icd.— The Chairman "aid he was to have inspected the road from Biidgwater to the school, re the proposed deviation ; but when he found the rates only amounted co i!SO, he telt sure the work would not bo done, and therefore he had not troubled to do so.—The other members agreed with tho view taken by the Chairman.
OAMMtinoE-TAUitANGARoAj).—-The Clerk was instructed to write to the county member for the riding, asking him to get the Council to grade and gravel .some of the worst places on the Cambridge-Tauranga road, between Bruce's Hill and the Hiinierii bush. Special mention was made of two big gullies. !siim:'s Hill.—Mr Bruuskill drew attention to a very narrow portion of the road ill the loot of Brueo's Jiill. Mb staled it was very dangerous, being only just wide enough Cor wheeled traffic, with a steep bank on either side. He was authorised to put the surfaceman on to widen the road, and plant the banks with poplars or willows at the proper season. Accounts.—There was only one account, viz., Thomas Bruce for road cutting AM, which was duly passed for payment. DuuKMiiuri MmcTiNd to L.U'.sk.—As the day of meeting for December is the 21st, it was thought it would bo too near the holidays, and it was resolved to let the meeting lapse. This concluded the business.
