TE AROHA.
Domain Board.—The monthly meeting of this Board was held on Saturday evening. Present: Messrs Gavin (chairman), Aliier and Ilott. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed, and the monthly statement of receipts showed £34 Us 8d as against £28 for the preceding five weeks. The following; accounts were passed for payment:—Wages, £10 10.<; Prince and Co., £8 5s (>d ; Johnston, £1 4s Gd ; Hetherington, £1; Orr, £2 5s ; Menzies, 2s !ld ; total, £23 7s M. Application for free bntlis for one mnntli was granted to an invalid in poor circumstances, and this concluded tlie business. Public Libkauy.— It in said that a Reutleinan at present residing here will deliver a lecture at an early date in aid of this useful institution. The object is an exceedingly pood one, and it is to be hoped a substantial sum will then bs raised, so that a wider class of litp.ra.turo may be provided than there is.
RiVßit v. Rah-.—Fifty-three tons of bullion from the Te Arohn Silver and Gold Mining Company were despatched on Saturday morning by the river boat to the Thames, the freight there being 10a per ton and 5s per ton from thence by boat to Auckland—.S3!) 15s, as against the railway rate £70 10s.
