PUKEKOHE.
Dairy Opk ration's. —The New Zealand Dairy Association is making active prepatinns fur butter-making during the coming season at Pukekohe. The new creamcry will work the same as last year and the cheese and bacon factory has been purchased from Mr Kingsford for £1000. This building is now being enlarged and will be fitted with freezing chambers, a 30 h.p. engine, and complete machinery for buttermaking. Cream will be brought from factories near the line between Mercer and Papatoitoi, and the butter, made at Pukekohe. Operations will commence on the Ist October, when it is estimated there will bo a supply of 2000 gallons, The price paid for milk will be 2y'd per gallon, with milk returned from October to May and extra payment for over 10 per cent, cream The required standard is i) per cent, as usual. Milk suppliers are with the present arrangements, and intend to keep'Up a good supply of milk during the season.
