PATERANGI.
Concert.—A concert to raisa funds for the purchase of a piano for tho glee club, and to be used at conceits, &c, was held here on Fiitlay evening, Mr F. C. Germann being in the chair. T.iero was a large attendance from all paits of the district, people coming many miles. These concerts are most attractive, the Paterangi residents being very hospitable, and sparing no trouble to ensure the enjoyment of visitors, assist very considerably in rendering all entertainments in this placo attractive. They are a musical community, and on this occasion, with ono or two exceptions, the performers were all local residents. The Misses Wills kindly came from Alexandra to assist, as did also Mr Prince from Ohaupo. Mr T. Goodfollow, who has a wide reputation as a violinist, formed a glee club here, and also taught some of the young ladies and gentlemen how to play the violin, and the pieces played by his pupils reflect credit on him and them, more especially as some of them have only been three months learning.
