TE AROHA
Town Board.—Tho monthly meeting of this board took place on Saturday evening. Present:—Messrs Gallagher (chairman), Ebett, and Heathcote. The business was of no great import nice, except to show that the available funds are being quickly spent on repairing tho main road, which, by the way, is likely to be handed back to the county. A petition or letter, purporting to bo signed by ratepayers, asking for the construction of the footpath from Blencne's to Russell's cottage, and signed by Robert Mackie only, was rcceircd. Entertainment.—Devere 'and Moore's troupe gave one of their popular entertainment at tho Public Hall on Friday evening. As they iutend going through tho Waikato it is fair to give thorn a cheap preliminary lift, by saying they are well worth listening to. We shall have the Paynes hero this week, but it is feared tho panes of glass broken will absorb all the spare capital in the place. New Paper.—Tho To Aroha Weekly Mail made its first appoarance here on Saturday evening. The paper is published by Sir W. Wasteney, and contains a good deal of loral news, and will no doubt gain a footing horo, and Do one of our pormanent institutions.
