KIRIKIRIROA ROAD BOARD.

Tlirciirc was no quorum at the Kirikiriro i Road Board meeting, yesterday, Messrs Primrose and White beingthe only members present. The following report was presented by the engineer.—The Chairman Kirikiriroa Road Board. —Sir,—l have to report that I inspected the main road for the maintenance ot which Crosby Brothers are the contractors. I found that the manner in which they have been doing the rppairs to the road is not good enough, the work being very roughly finished nil. This I told them, could not be allowed, and although I allowed them to take oil the shoulders at each side of the roid, and use til'! stnlf (mi long as it eon11ins sufficient gravel), to lill holes with, yet I will insist on this work being done in a much neater manner than they have carried it oit so far. Their culverts also have been allowed in two instances at least to overll iw, and the water has done damage to the road, which they will have to make good. I would prefer to ha ve as little cartinu as possible done on the roads until better weather sets in, and I have therefore told them to do as little carting of gravel as possible for the present, but to try and keep the roads in good order by spade work. During the past wet weather I am glad to say that very little damage has been done to our roads generally.—l am, >ir, yours fithfully, T. G. Sandks, Board Engineer.
