S. PETER'S CHURCH, HAMILTON.
The Rev. Mr Willis, of Cambridge, Archdeacon of Waikato, presided on Thursday evening at the quarterly meeting of the parishioners of S. Peter's Church, Hamilton. There was a good attendance. The balance-sheet and churchwarden's reports pointed to a slight improvement on last quarter, with a reduction of the indebtedness. After the reports had been adopted the Venerable chairman addressed the meeting and in an admirable manner referred to the position of the parish, the causes of disunion, and in what direction the people's duty and loyalty lay to remedy oxisting evils. The secretary read his correspondence with the Bishop, and an animated discussion took place. Resolutions were passed, eventually, affirming the desire of the parishioners to maintain constancy towards, and willingness to assist in, the service of the Church and to provide the funds necessary for the work of the parish, and it was made an instruction to the vestry, as the executive of the parish, to carry the resolutions into clfect. Mr Cowpcr, people's warden and secretary, moved a vote of thanks to the Archdeacon for presiding on the occasion, and tor the trouble and interest he had shown ill their affairs which he had assisted so well to put in a better state. Mr Seddon seconded, and the motion was unanimously carried. The Archdeacon replied thanking the parishioners for the kind manner in which he had been referred to, and the meeting closed with the benediction.
