WAIKATO ANNIVERSARY SWIMMING RACES.

A mkktini. of the coni'iiittce of the abovo was held in The Waikato Timks Building last night, Mr J. Parr, (chairman), for the purpose of receiving (he secretary's report and passing the accounts for payment. The accounts showed a balance of t2 4s 0d to the credit of tho committee, the receipts being £32 7s 7*l, expenditure, £30 3s Id. Tho action of the I'rize Committee in substituting a handsome silver watch and chain in place of the three gold medals won by Mr W. von Stunner, on the 20Lh January was endorse.l. Accounts passed : — Tiik Waikato Timks, t'"> s*; H. Howden, £1!) 14 (id ; Nfjaruawahia Band, £3 10s ; sundries, £1 13s 7d. It was resolved that tho offer of Miss Missen to permit the prizes to bo presented at her concert on Thursday evening next, bo accepted, and that the Mayoress hi asked to make the presentation, I'ri/.c winners will have tickets given them on application to the Secretary. Mr George .Kdgecumbe received a vote of thanks for his kindne-s in placing Ins room at the service of the committee. Thn Secretary was instructed to convey to Mr 11. Howden the best thanks of tli« wmrnitt.ee, and to express their high appreciation of tho manner in which he had executed the order for prizes. A. hearty vote of thanks to the chairman closed the meeting.
