Collins asked to have Weld-street repaired ; he complained that in wet weather it was almost impassable.—Referred to Works Committee, Kei'ort of Legal and Finance Committee. —This Committee reported that proceedings had not been instituted against Mr Phillip Cooper, for not clearing the street near his property of furze, as they thought the law had not been complied with, as no one had been specially authorised to serve the notice. Mr Hally had been elected Chairman of the committee. Dog Registrar.—There were only two tenders for the office of dog registrar, viy„, \V. G. Collins, 10 per cent on amount collected, and H. Fitzgerald, Is per collar. Both tenders being for the same amount, the former was accepted, Mr Collins being a ratepayer and residing in (ho township. Tim Cj.ebk's Holiday.—The clerk was granted leave of absence for 14 days, at the latter end of the month. Some of the Councillors jocularly advised him not to go to Samoa interviewing Mataafa.
