LATEST AUCKLAND NEWS.
(by electric tklegkaph—copyright.) London, February 12. Last night a negro was surprised by the landlord entering a hotel at Swansea, the object evidently being robbery. The landlord closed with the burglar, and a desperate struggle ensued, which terminate:! in the negro cutting the landlord's throat with a razor. In the meantime the disturbance; had awakened the landlady, who appeared on the scene \Mth a revolver. She fired at the negro wounding him. The latter, however, managed to escape, from the hotel, but by this time the whole street was aroused, and thousands joined in the hunt, aiul (he murderer was eventually captured.
