COMMUNICATION WITH TAR A NAKL.
(BY TKI.IiCKArH—PIIUSS ASSOCIATION.) New Plymouth, Monday. During the Hon. Mr Richardson's stay here he went carefully down the maps, plans and reports relative to the proposed coach road to Auckland to connect with the Waikato railway. The result was an expression ojf opinion that in the interest of settlement two roads should bo made ; one from Stratford, and the other up .tho Mimi Valley. Theso roads would open up a large extent of country of a rich character. Mr Richardson thinks it would be detrimental to tho interests of tho colony to postpone its construction, Tho length of road required is not tnany miles, but it will be a great convenience for driving stock to the Auckland market, as well as for Oobb and Go's coaches to run on to meet the train at Waikato, and thus connect hy road all the settlements in the North Island.
