Sin GkokueGhky is dissatisfied with the recommendations of the Point Resolution commission, and has determined to take fur' ther steps with the object of seuuriug a return of the land to the oriptiiml trust. A cablegram has been received, announcing the successful floating in London of Preece's Point Gold Mining Company, at Coromandel. Preeee's Point is the property of the Diocesan Trust Board, and was recently leased for 1-i years, to Adam Porter and others for £75 a year, the Trust Board to receive ail additional per cent of the gross amount of gold obtained by tho new Company. This is the fourth company now floated on the English market, .Mr Hodge, manager of the Kapanga, has bnen \ery successful since the new company took over the mine, the output of gold is increasing every month since operations were commenced. It is understood that a handsome dividend will shortly be declared to shareholders who are mostly residents of England. The New Zealand Sugar Company pays a dividend of seven per cent.

There, is 110 prospect of the Secretary of tho .New Zealand Bootmaker's Union and Garrett Bros, coining to mutual understanding on trade matters. The firm lias replaced their Union hands who struck by other men and operations at their factory are now in full swing, that being so they contend they have nothing to settle.
