HAMILTON PUBLIC LIBRARY.

A meeting of the Library Committee was held in Mr Pannell's rooms at eight o'clock on Tuesday evening. Present: Messrs G. Edgecumbe (chairman), R. F. Sandes, li. M. Salmon, J. Parr. J. Knox and J. E. Pannell.—Thesub-committee reported upon the works Renan's " Life of Jesus," and Winwood Read's "Martyrdom of Man," and submitted a recommendation that they be withdrawn from circulation, and held within the library for reference only.—lt was resolved that the report be adopted, and on an application from Mr Parr the secretary was instructed to hand over the " Martyrdom of Man" to the donor (Mr Parr). —This was all the business.
