Michael Kirbv, alias Lynch, was committed fur trial at the Police Court, to-day, charged with robbing a carpenter uumed Cogan, who had come to town from Wai ma, and gone to A.h Cheo's boardinghonso, Wyndham-sriest, The Board of Education to-day resolved that in future the V> mrd would only contribute half tlic cost towards painting school buildings, which should In- painted every live years. The appointment cf Mr Hern to Alexandra school was approved.
