England v. Auckland.

Auckland, Wednesday. Thk return football match, Auckland v. England, attracted a large crowd. The match was »ery closely contested. The only score in the first spell was made by Stoddart, when, by a good run, he got a touch for England. Paul took the kick, but missed. Only ono point, therefore, was scored. In the second spell Braund obtained a try for Auckland. Locky took the kick, and failed to score a goal. The game ended in a draw, with one point for each. Cambridge v. Te Awamutu. The [return football match between Cambridgeand Te Awamutu will take place at the latter place on Saturday. The following will play for Te Awamutu :—Messrs Blackett, Corboy, MeFarlane, Graham, Quinn, Cowley, Brown, Bayliss, Holden, Gilford, Cunningham, Given, Gnrmnnsway, Sibley and Hume. Emergencies : Cox and Millar.
The match between Te Awamutu and Hamilton will not take place next Saturday. Te Awamutu wishes to play tho return match in their township, consequently it is likely to fall through.
