Hamilton Road Board.

The annual meeting of the ratepayers of the Hamilton Road District was hold at the office of the Board on Saturday last. The following ratepayers were present:—Messrs Livingstone, Steele, Booth, Jones, Way and Maunder. The Chairman read the notice convening the meeting, minutes of the last annual meeting, and the statement of receipts and expenditure for the year ending March 31st, 1888, as follows: —Receipts: Rates collected, £100 14s 5d ; subsidy, £51 5s KM; contract deposits, £3; bank overdraft, £83 10f Id ; total, £331 10s 4d. Expenditure, £220 15-i lid; overdraft, £110 lis lOd; total, £331 10s-Id. Assets, £135 2s ; liabilities, £101 8s 4d ; public debt, £282 2s 2d. Mr Steele proposed that the statement of accounts as read be adopted.—Seconded by Mr Jones and carried unanimously. A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the meeting. HOARD MEETING. Tho ordinary monthly meeting of the Hamilton Road Board was held after the annual meeting of ratepayers, all the members being present. Mr Goodwin's offer to keep tho road in gcod order at Stokes' gully was deferred to the next meeting, and Mr T. Jones's account for balancc on contract, £5, was passed for payment. This was all the business before the meeting.
