[by TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Auckland, Monday, The Alameda left for 'Frisco this afternoon. Every berth was taken up with passengers, chiefly from Sydney. This morning, at 3 o'clock, the wife of Mr J. Rhodes, boot and shoemaker, of Symond - street, presented him with triplets, two boys and a girl. All are doing well. At the Supreme Court to-day, Mr Cave applied for an order to sell the book debts of Samuel Jackson, junr., by private contract. His Honour declined to make an order. The application to sell the book debts of Thomas Trewheellar by public tender was granted. On Saturday afternoon shortly aftar the publication of the Cell, Mr Gorlitz, Amy Sherwin's manager, went into the publishing office and informed the accountant that iu consequence of the adverse tone of its critique of the previous night's concert, he would withdraw hisadvertisemetit from the Bell, and cancel the Press ticket. Mr Gorlitz was in a very excited state, but in the absence of the editorial staff, no damage was done, Yesterday morning a sensational rumour gained currency in town that a well known tailor in Victoria-street, had despatched his better half to another world. The police also received information to the same effect, but upon making enquiries they found the rumour originated in a row between the man and his wife, in which the latter had come off second best.
