Merritt, who was convicted for the Wairalda murder, has been sentenced to death. There is great activity in the coast trade with San Francisco, and vessels are arriving daily to load for there. Owing to the great demand for space at the. Melbourne Centennial Exhibition, extra buildings are to be erected. The Railway Commissioners decline to appoint a board to enquire into charges against Mr Allison Smith as they are of opinion there is nothing to justify such n course. Parliament meets early in June. The Government have declined to send a delegate to the Rabbit Conference to be held in Sydney. Adelaide, April 13. Pleura pneumonia has broken out at Endunna, seventy miles north of Adelaide.
