Hamilton Light Infantry.
The above corps assembled on Sunday morning on Sydney Square, to attend divine service in S. Peter's Church. About 40 men of all ranks were present, together with Lieut-Colonel Forbes, Hon. Col. and Dr. Kenny, Hon. Surgeon. After service the men were marched back to Sydney Square and dismissed. Yesterday morning, the corps again turned out, and were exercised by Capt. Reid in the manual, marching past, advancing and retiring in line, and several company formations. In the afternoon a friendly match was fired at the range, over 300, 400 and 500 yards, seven shots at each distance, and wa3 won by Bandsman H. Tristram with a, score of 68. The anniversary ball took place in the ove.ning, and was well attended. The catering gave sitisfaction to all ; the music, be ng in the hands of Mr Mettam, assisted by picked men from the band, was all that could be desired, and we congratulate the committee upon the success of their efforts.
