MR McNICOL'S HORSE SALE.

Mr J. McNicol held the largest and most successful horse sale over conducted in Waikato, at Carter's bazaar, on Monday last. There was a large attendance of buyers from all parts of the district, and from a distance. There were a large number of entries, and 93 horses were sold out of 173 offered, and £800 was the total price brought, the average being about nine guineas. The following were some of the prices obtained:—Painter gelding, £18; J. Fisher's Cap-a-pie colt, £22; W. Tucker's Cap-a-pie colt, £lli 10s; R. Watson's 3-year-old Cap-a-pie colt, £15 ; W M. Douglas' Stirlingworth 4-yoar-oid, £14 ; Foster's bo, £14 ss; J. Taylor's br horses, £9 10s and £10. Other horses sold as follow :—Ono by J Calder, 10 guineas ; one by J. Grice, by Ariel. £12 10s ; by T. Hunt, £11 10s and £11 15s; by J. Higginson, £12 (is ; T. Freeman, £10; 15 draught colts from T. Gnodfellow sold at £7 to £9, being all bought for tho Sydney market by Messrs J. Hill and J. McNicol. .T. McGiven sold ahorse at £10 ss, C. J. Storey at £14, J. Turnbull at £17. The sale began at 12.15. and concluded at 5.45, from which it will be seen tho auctioneer kept his audience going, the whole sale taking 5.V hours. Mr Allwill's horses sold as follow : —Haricot for £55 ; Clipperina, £15 ; Memento and foal by Ingoinar, £17 10s ; a bay colt and filly, draft, £18 for the two. Wo congratulate Mr M'Nicol on the great success he has with on this important occasion.
