HAMILTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Tiik adjourned meeting of the Borough Council was held on Tuesday evening at the Council Chambers, for the purpose of inspecting tho plans and specifications drawn up with regard to the saleyards, and if approved to call for tenders for tho erection of the yards ; and also to consider what, steps should be taken with regard to Vincent's drain. There were present: His Worship the Mayor, Crs. Knox, Salmon, Wood, Coates, Jones, Hell and Sandes. Tins Sai.kyauds.—The plans and specifications of tho saleyards having been looked over, and approved of, Cr. Knox moved that tenders for the erection of tho saleyards be called for the Bth Marclwiext. —Seconded by Cr. Salmon, and carried. — Cr. Knox moved that the following—Tho Mayor, Crs. Coates, von Sturmer, Knox and Wood—be appointed a committee to open the tenders, in c< nneetion with the engineer, and prepare a report for the Council in the evening.—Seconded by Cr. Salmon, and carried. Vi.vchn't's Drain'.— Cr. Knox said that he was labouring under a misapprehension with regard to this matter, as ho thought it would not be brought up till the next ordinary meeting of the Council, and ho was not prepared to bring forward his proposed scheme at this meeting. The matter was therefore deferred till tho next ordinary meeting of the Council. This concluded the business, and the Council rose.
