MAMILTON CHRISTMAS SPORTS.
This year these sports promise to bo as good, if not better, than those of previous years. The entries are large, mostly Waikato, and competitors in many instances regular old representatives. Training for these sports has been going on during the last month, in all parts of Waikato. Already four or five men are absolutely certain of the cup. The handicapping, of course allowing for chronic growlers, is very satisfactory. Much attention has been given to getting the running track in order, but owing to the very dry weather it is rather hard. We would remind competitors that the rule for starting will be strictly enforced. Visitors are requested to got their tickets of admission from the secretary, or the gate men, The fine Hamilton band will play during the day and as there is a special train from Auckland, a large crowd is expected.
