WAITETUNA.
Blub Riiihon Mkbtinc.— A most successful Blue Ribbon meeting was held in the Waitetnna school-room, on Monday evening last. There was a grand attendance. Mr W. 11. Wallis occupied tlie chair. The meeting was commenced by singing hymn 21J., Sankey’s collections. Then a prayei by fhe Rev. Mr Stephenson. The following programme was rendered :—Cluiiiiiian’s speech ; part song, “ We’ve Sighted the Garden Gate,” Choir ; reading, “ Air and Mrs Bowser,” Miss McDonald; hymn, ‘‘The Little Ones,” Choir; song, “The Garden Star,” Mr Chas. Muon; duet, “I Will Not be Long,” Misses Wallis and Moon : reading, by the Rev. Air Stephenson ; part song, “For Ever Together,” Choir ; recitation, “ Billy’s Rose,” Miss Bessie McDonald; hymn, “My Redeemer,” Choir ; reading, “ Charlie Fence,” Miss Spence. This was well rendered. Air Ernest 0. Wallisthengavein character “The Quack Doctor, or a lecture on patent medicine,” which caused much merriment and laughter ; part song, “He that heareth and holieveth,” choir: speech, Mr J. J. Austin ; duet, “Please Give me a Penny,” the Aliases Austin ; part song, “The Foaming Sea,” choir; recitation, “Two Innocents Abroad,” Miss Lena Moon; song, “Nil Despe-randinn,” Air Ernest 0. Wallis; duet, “Little Alary,” the Alisses Austin; hymn, “Call Them In,” choir. Tlie Rev. Air Stephenson then invited all those that had not signed the pledge tn come forward and do so, and two donned tlie bit of blue. Song, “ Welcome Wanderer,” Mr Stephenson. This brought the programme to an end. The Rev. Mr Stephenson then proposed a hearty vote of thanks to the chairman, which was carried by acclamation. A vote of thanks was also accorded to the choir for their services. Aliss Wallis ably presided at the harmonium. The Benediction being pronounced by the Rev. Air Stephenson, the meeting concluded.
