K.M. Count.—A sitting of the R.M. Cmrt was held on Tuesday, when tin; following civil cases wens heard before Mr H. A. Stratford: —J. Gould v. J. B. Smith. Claim £IOO wages for work done in “Success” Mine, Waiurtmgnmai. Mr Lush, Thames, for plaintiff. Defendant appeared and asked for an adjournment to admit of the presence of his solicitor, Mr Miller. Ho was willing that the case should lie heard at the Thames. Mr Lush consented to an adjournment to tin; Thames on the 28th instant, provided £lO costs were forthwith paid by defendant for plaintiff's expenses to date and travelling expenses to and from the Thames on the 2St.li hist. The costs were paid and Hie adjournment was granted accordingly. Oliicial Assignee in the estate of James Warren, bankrupt, v. A. Downes. Claim £o 7s (id. Amount paid into court with costs, ss. Samo v. A. Cleary. Claim £S for board and lodging. Mr W. Cray appeared for the Assignee, but being unprovided with sufficient authority the magistrate declined to allow him to conduct the case. Mr Lush was then instructed to act. J. Warren deposed that when lie became bankrupt defendant owed him between £7 and £3. Judgment given for £6 7s (id, and costs of court 10s, the amount allowed being at the rate of 255, instead of 30s per week claimed. Execution stayed till 22nd December. Same v. C. Cooper, claim £2 ss, for drinks supplied. Mr Lush for plaintiff. Defendant did not appear. J. Warren proved that defendant had owed him £1 ss, of which sum £2 had since been paid. The case was adjourned to December (ith to enable Mr Lush to produce authorities to show that the Official Assignee could sue for drinks, although Mr Wajjron could not, being debarred from doing so by section 133 of the Licensing Act, ISBI. Same v. Holden, senr., claim £5 13s, for refreshments. No appearance of either defendant or plaintiff. Case struck out. Wakdkx’.s Coukt. —Application of James Hosie for a residence site. Granted. Application of R. Burke for protection of the “ Welcome” Licensed Holding Waiorongomai. Granted for three months from October 28th, on condition that one man be employed continuously on the ground. Application of J. Chambers for water , race at Tni Creek. Hearing adjourned to December 20th, to enable Bayldon to complete the survey and report. Application of J. Wiseman for a Licensed Holding adjoining the Domain. Referred to the D .main Board for a report. Hearing to take place on December (Ith, Right to occupy business site half .if allotment 15, block 2, Te Arnha was awarded to K. Harris (the only applicant) on payment of £5 arrears of rent and 7s lid costs of advertising.
