TE AWAMUTU.

Cavalry Drill.— The three days’drill of the volunteer cavalry ended to-day. Contrary to expectation, Colonel Shepherd did not arrive to inspect the corps. Thirtynine men appeared on parade, and wore inspected by Captain Rutherford. A telegram from Colonel Shepherd was read on parade, thanking the men fqr the splendid muster at the funeral of the lateOol. Lyon, and for the sympathy they evinced. Mr C. Storey was unanimously re-elected to (ill the vacant lieutenancy. Church Parade.—There will be a Church parade on Sunday evening next.
