THE CIVIL SERVICE SUPPLY ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of shareholders in the Civil Service Supply Association of New Zealand Limited was held on Wednesday, the 20th Inst., at the Insurance Buildings,' Auckland, Captain Daldy in the chair. It was announced that 131 shareholders had given in their adhesion, and it was resolved to form the Association. Henry Wilding, Esq., J.P., and Captain Daldy, Chairman of the South British Insurance Company, were appointed provisional directors, and accepted office. By the Articles of Association, the Directors bind themselves to be personally responsible for any credit that may be given in contravention of the Memorandum of Association. It is intended for the present to issue no more than five thousand shares at SB each, fully paid up, as the promoters anticipate that the next issue of shares will command a premium to the advantage of the original shareholders. Amongst other work of importance to the community which this Association proposes is that of affording an outlet in Auckland for the produce of country settlers, for which it will pay a fair market price in cash on delivery at its stores, without any deduction for auctioneers’ fees, or any discount whatever. It is expected that the moderate profit which the cash system gives the Association power to take, will enable it to increase the consumption of fruit alone twenty or forty fold. As the next meeting of shareholders will be held in about a week, when applications for shares will he considered by the directors, intending applicants would do well to apply for shares without delay, either to the Union Bank of Australia Limited, Queen-street Auckland, or to the branch at Hamilton, or to the manager of the Company, Hoorge White, Esq., 87, Queen-street, Auckland. The manager of the produce department of this Association, Mr John Douglas, was recently in the Waikato, making the necessary arrangements for business, and had a most favourable reception from a large number of the settlers.
